Enquanto a Indra toma conta dos bebés, o pai Bryn está num momento de relaxamento... ainda que com o melgas do Mouro por perto. :-) Será que os bebés vão ser tão grandes como o pai?

While Indra is taking care of the babies, Bryn (the father) is enjoying a relaxing moment... even when the naughty Mouro is near. :-) I wonder if the babies are going to be so big as Bryn.

A Ash é a mais comilona da ninhada e, nas últimas horas, conseguiu ultrapassar os machos no «campeonato da engorda». Gosto muito da sua expressão, daquele olhar distante que sublinha a sua feminilidade, e da tranquilidade de que abusa para fazer tudo. Está com estranho à-vontade perto dos humanos gigantes que aparecem sempre na hora das refeições e adora ronronar...

Ash loves to eat and in the last hours has passed the males in the «gaining weight championship». I love her expression, that distant look that reinforces her feminility and the calm she uses to do everything. She is always with strange tranquility in the middle of the giant humans that always appear in the lunch hour. And she loves to purr.

Ao nono dia, o Adad é um gatinho sereno e sensível, perdendo-se em miados quando não vê a mãe por perto. Infelizmente para ele, as fotografias não retratam a expressão suave que já tem nem o negro intenso do seu pêlo. Quem já tentou fotografar um gato preto sabe do que falo e... já não é fácil quando eles estão quietos.

Adad is at day nine a peaceful and sensible kitten, who starts to cry as loud as he can when he doesn't see her mother around. Unfortunely, pictures are unable to transmit his gentil expression and the intense black of his fur. Who already tried to photograph a black picture knows what I'm talking about... even when they stand still.

Shadow Eyes Ashanti

É um gato muito meigo e adora que lhe façam festas na barriga. Põe-se logo de barriga para cima para o seu ritual de quase desde a nascença. Também fisicamente mantém um perfil óptimo e uma boa estrutura de corpo. Tem lutado com o Angkor desde o primeiro dia na competição de quem é o mais pesado.

He is a very tender kitten and loves that someone caresses his tummy. He immediatly puts her tummy to sky hoping that someones makes his wish. Phisically mantains a excellent profile and a good body structure. He has been fighting with Angkor for the title of heaviest in the litter.

É o mais possante da ninhada, com ossos muito fortes, e a explicação é simples: não se cansa de mamar. É muito engraçado, muito sereno e apenas perde a compostura quando não tem por onde comer.
Se continuar assim será muito parecido com o Bryn em termos de porte e fisionomia.

Very strong, with strong bones. The reason is simple: he never gets tired to eat. He is very funny and quiet and he only loses his temper when someone doesn't give him what he wants: milk.
If he continues to grow like this he will be very similar to Bryn in struture and shape.

Shadow Eyes Alhambra

É uma gatinha muito dócil, mas nota-se que tem personalidade. Não se cansa de miar até que lhe façam a vontade. No aspecto físico, o perfil mantém-se absolutamente recto apesar de nove dias a mamar. É muito forte e musculada, ou não fosse filha do Bryn e da Indra.

A very tender female kitten with personality. She cries until someone does what she wants. Her profile still is straight although it passed nine days since her birth. Alhambra is very strong and has string muscles, like her father Bryn and her mother Indra.

Gatinhos com 9 dias/Kittens with 9 days

Os nossos gatinhos já têm 9 dias e vamos colocar aqui entre hoje e amanhã (o tempo não tem sido muito) as últimas fotos.

Infelizmente, o local onde nasceram e onde têm estado não é o melhor para fotografias face à fraca entrada de luz. Por isso, umas fotos ficaram melhores, outras piores. É a vida...

Our kittens have 9 days e today and tomorrow we will put on this blog (time is short) the last photos.

Unfortunely the place where they born and are now is not the best one for pictures, because the light is not much. This is why some pictures are better, others worse. It´s life.

A Primeira Ninhada!!!/Our First Litter!!!

Olá a todos,

No passado domingo, nasceu a primeira ninhada Shadow Eyes. Os pais Bryn e Indra estão de parabéns. São cinco lindos gatinhos, três machos (um vermelho tabby, um vermelho tabby com branco e um preto sólido) e duas fêmeas (uma preta e branca sólida e uma tartaruga preta com branco, que também aparenta ser sólida).

Hi everybody,

Last Sunday was born the first Shadow Eyes litter. Bryn, the father, and Indra, the mother, live special days. They had five beautiful kittens, three males (a red tabby, a red tabby with white and a solid black) and two females (a black and white and a black tortie with white, apparently both solid).

A relação perfeita/The perfect relationship

O Bryn e o Mouro têm, por enquanto, a relação mais estável no gatil. Companheiros inseparáveis, dormem muitas vezes aconchegados um no outro e, apesar de bem mais sério do que os demais, o Bryn descobriu no seu novo amigo uma espécie de elixir da juventude, retomando brincadeiras que já estavam esquecidas. O Mouro, por sua vez, tem no adulto da casa uma espécie de figura paternal, que observa de longe. Estávamos longe de pensar que se fossem dar tão bem. E temos a certeza de que isso só é possível devido ao feitio tolerante do Bryn. Um bom exemplo para quem acha que não há nada como uma gatinha fêmea :-)...

Bryn and Mouro have the more stable relationship in the cattery. They cannot be very far from the other and sleep always very close from each other... Bryn is the most serious cat we have, but he have discovered in his young friend a kind of youth fountain, bringing him back to treats long time forgotten. Mouro looks at his adult companion as a kind of father figure. We never thought they would get along so nicely. And we are sure that this is only possible because of Bryn's tolerant temper. A good example to who prefers a female cat :-)...

Está também nos pormenores finais, mas penso que o Daniel não levará a mal se o anunciar já neste blog. Ainda por cima depois de ter tido a segunda ninhada num mês... Façam-lhe uma visita, os bebés são muito giros.

Afixo/Affix

Já o sabíamos há dias, mas tivemos hoje a confirmação oficial por parte da Asfe, a Associação Felina Espanhola, da qual somos sócios. Shadow Eyes vai mesmo ser o nosso nome oficial e o afixo dos nossos gatos. O número do afixo na FIFe é o 1961. Enhorabuena.

We have been informed a few days ago, but today we got the official confirmation from Asfe. Shadow Eyes will be our name and it will be our cats' affix. The number of the affix in FIFe is 1961. Enhorabuena.

Mouro vezes seis/Six times Mouro

Fontemouro faz hoje, dia 12, seis meses de vida. Está a crescer muito rapidamente, parece que foi ontem que o trouxemos de Madrid. Ultrapassou já os 3,6 quilos, mas mantém aquela expressão selvagem e felina que sempre nos cativou nele. Mesmo dentro de casa, sobressai o seu instinto de caçador. É verdade que as presas aqui mexem-se um pouco menos do que as que encontraria num bosque, mas isso não o demove. Estamos muito contentes com ele, como com todos os outros.

Fontemouro is six months old today. He is growing very fast. It seems that it was only yesterday we brought him from Madrid. He has passed 3,6 kilos already, but still keeps that feline and wild expression that had seduced us from the start. Even inside the house, he shows his hunter intinct. It's true that prey move a little bit slower here than in the woods, but it's pretty the same for him. We are very happy to have him with us, as well as the others.
