Especial DNA / A tribute to DNA

Há algum tempo que desesperávamos por fotos da DNA, uma das minhas favoritas e também um das paixões da Ana, embora eu tenha a certeza de que a lista de favoritos dela é a soma de todos os bebés que nasceram aqui e mais uns quantos que encontrámos no nosso caminho ao longo dos últimos anos.

A Sandra tem tido muito trabalho e só quem nunca tentou pode pensar que é fácil tirar fotos a um gato. Não é? Por isso, é melhor aproveitar a fartura e fazer mesmo um especial da líndissima filha da Indra e do Mouro, que tem dividido os últimos meses entre a ilha do Corvo, nos Açores, e o Algarve. Aqui entre nós que ninguém nos ouve, ao olhar para estas fotos, vocês sabem o que eu estou a pensar, não sabem?

We were waiting for some time for some new photos of DNA, one of my favourites and one of Ana's passions too, besides I'm pretty sure her favourites are all babies born here and a few more we found in our path in the last years. Sandra has had a lot of work and all we know how hard to take a cat's photo. That's why we must enjoy these photos of beautiful daughter of Indra and Mouro in a tribute to her. She has been in the last months in Corvo island, in Azores, and in Algarve. Looking at her photos, I'm sure you can imagine what I'm thinking about...

O Jorge, o Pedro e o resto da família mandaram-nos também novas fotos do Föhr, que, sem grande espanto, está muito parecido com... Adivinharam. O Mouro! Obrigado por o terem tão nem cuidado e pela informação constante sobre um dos mais enérgicos Shadow Eyes de que há memória. Speed é a sua alcunha... Pudera! :-)

Jorge, Pedro and the rest of the family have sent us some new photos of Föhr, who is each day more alike... You have guessed correctly: his father, Fontemouro! We have to thank this nice family for keeping him so taking so good care of him and for the constant information about one of the most energetic Shadow Eyes ever. They called him Speed... You can imagine why! :-)

Fanghu, novas fotos (com companhia)

A Ana mandou-nos novas fotos da Fanghu, filha da Guyane e do Mouro, e que agora já tem um companheiro muito especial, o charmoso Xian, do gatil Val de Cambs. Os dois terão certamente bebés muito bonitos no futuro. Para já, o que se pode dizer é apenas: «Love is in the air» :-).

Ana has sent us some new photos of Fanghu, the beautiful daughter of Guyane and Fontemouro. She has a new companion, a true charming guy called Xian, from Val de Cambs cattery. The two of them will have very beautiful babies in the future. For now all we can say is that «Love is in the air» :-).

Ninhada G, semana 3 / G Litter, week 3

Todos os gatinhos da ninhada G estão a evoluir muito bem. A Indra é já uma mãe experiente e trata dos seus bebés de uma forma exemplar. São todos bastante precoces, uma vez que abriram os olhos entre o quinto e o sexto dia e já andam perfeitamente com as quatro patas com três semanas, o que geralmente só costuma acontecer com um mês de vida. Adoram a voz da Ana e vêm ter com ela sempre que ela os chama, e gostam muito de se sentir nas nossas mãos, prcurando festas.

All G Litter kittens are develloping very well. Indra is a very experient mother and takes care of her babies every minute of the day. They all are well ahead of their time. They started to open their eyes between the 5th and 6th day, and walk standind perfectly in their four legs, which only happens normally at one month old. They love Ana's voice and they come to her to be pet and love to feel themselves in our hands.

Resultados de Madrid / Madrid results

Passámos o último fim-de-semana em Pozuelo de Alarcón, em Madrid, para a penúltima exposição do ano. Levámos o Mouro e o Rock e chegámos muito cansados depois de uma exposição muito competitiva, com mais de 400 gatos no catálogo, e algo confusa. Os dois dias foram muito longos, sobretudo o primeiro, que começou às 8 da manhã e apenas terminou mais de 12 horas depois, já depois das 20:30.

No geral, a expo correu bem. Ambos trouxeram os seus certificados, no caso do Rock os primeiros para Campeão Internacional (IC). Já o Mourito continua a competir para Grande Campeão Internacional e somou mais duas nomeações para Best in Show e um prémio de Melhor da Variedade. Continua a ser um gato muito querido dos juízes, sobretudo por manter um temperamento fantástico para shows.

We have spent last weekend in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid, for another show. We took Fontemouro and Rock and arrived yesterday very tired, after a very competitive and confusing show with more than 400 cats in the catalogue. Both days were very long, mainly the first one, which has started at 8:00 am and only ended more than 12 hours later, after 20:30. In general, it was a good expo for us. Both have got their certificates, the first two CACIBs in the case of Rock. Fontemouro is still competiting for Grand International Champion (GIC) and got two more Best in Show nominations and one Best of Variety prize. He continues to be a cat that all judges love, mainly because his wonderful temper in shows.

Dahlak Kebir aos 8 meses / Dahlak Kebir at eight months old

A propósito dos bebés da Indra, estivemos hoje com o Dahlak, aproveitando a estada dele muito perto da nossa casa, e aproveitámos para tirar umas fotografias. Mantém um temperamento soberbo, cumprimentando-nos como se nunca tivesse deixado de nos ver e adora comunicar, a exemplo do que acontece com a mãe. Obrigado Emília, por cuidar tão bem dele!

Speaking about Indra's babies, we have been today with Dahlak, who has staying very near our house just for two days. Of course we had to took some pictures. He mantains that wonderful temper, saying hello as we had never stopped being in touch. He also loves to speak, as his mother does too. Thanks Emília, for taking so good care of him.

Bem-vinda, Ninhada G!/Welcome G Litter!

Temos o prazer de anunciar o nascimento, no domingo passado, de mais cinco gatinhos Shadow Eyes, dos pais Brynjolf e Indra. Três machos e duas fêmeas compõem então a nossa ninhada G.

Machos - Guajira (Preto tabby com Branco), Greensleeves (Preto tabby com Branco) e Ghuri (Vermelho Tabby);

Fêmeas - Guam (Tartaruga Preta com Branco) e Guantanamera (Tartaruga Preta Tabby com Branco).

As fotos serão publicadas nas próximas horas aqui no blog e no nosso site, bem como a explicação dos nomes ;-)

We are proud to announce the birth, last Sunday, of five more Shadow Eyes kittens. Brynjolf and Indra are the parents of our G Litter.

Males - Guajira (Black tabby com White), Greensleeves (Black tabby with White) e Ghuri (Red tabby);

Fêmeas - Guam (Black Tortie with White) e Guantanamera (Black Tortie tabby with White).

The photos will be published in the nezt hours here in the blog and in our site, as well the names' meaning ;-).
