Descoberta!! / Discovery!!

O Bryn descobriu um buraquito nos sofás antigos e zás... tornou-se logo num novo esconderijo e local de brincadeira. Para ajudar à festa encontrou duas bolitas lá dentro atiradas há muito tempo pelas crianças.

Brynjolf has found a hole in the old sofas and that was immediatly a hiding place for him. To become a more pleasant discovery he found there two little balls left by the children. The fun continues...

No passado fim-de-semana iamos estar com o Brynjolf na Exposição de Cascais. Acabámos por não ir. O nosso filho mais pequeno esteve internado no hospital com uma pneumonia. Fica para a próxima...

Last weekend we planned to be with Brynjolf in Cat's Show in Cascais. We couldn't go. Our son was ill in the hospital with a pneumony. We will go next time...

Ida ao veterinário / Going to vet

O Bryn fez a vacina da Leucose felina mas antes fez os testes da FIV e FeLV. Ambos deram negativo. Pela primeira vez vi-o zangado... com a veterinária.

Bryn has taken the Feline Leukemia vaccine. Before he made the tests FIV and FeLV. They were negative. For the first time he got mad, really mad with the vet.

Momentos de Paz/Peace Time

Ufa... finalmente uns minutos de descanso. Sempre dá para recarregar baterias.

A chamar para a brincadeira/Calling for play

É estranho porque sempre acreditei que os gatos gostassem de paz. Mas até nisso o Bryn é especial. Ele adoptou os nossos filhos e agora são os três inseparáveis. Os miúdos não largam o gatito - colo, beijos e apertos - e ele não se importa nada. Aliás é o Bryn que também não os larga e passa a vida a desafiá-los para as suas brincadeiras. E quando se põe de barriga para cima é sinal de que está à espera deles para brincar. Este doce gatinho adora mimos...

I always believed that cats enjoyed peace. But even in that our Brynjolf is special. He adopted our children and now the three are inseparable. The kids don't leave him in peace - too much kisses and huggings - but he doesn't mind at all. Besides, Bryn doesn't leave them in peace either and keep challenging them for his games. When he lays with his belly up it's his way of saying that he wants to play. This sweet cat loves to be pet...

Só brincadeira/Always playing

O dia para o Brynjolf divide-se em três actividades: comer, dormir (quando o deixam, claro) e brincar. As dez horas que os gatos costumam dormir por dia não se aplicam ao nosso pequenote. Para o Bryn são sim 10 horas de brincadeira. Correr atrás de balões e bolas, brincar com bocaditos de pão e «atacar» a vassoura são só algumas das suas mil e uma brincadeiras favoritas. Parar não parece ser com ele...

Brynjolf's days have only three main activities: eating, sleeping (when the children let him do it, of course) and playing. Cats are suppose to sleep ten hours a day. But not our little one. He spends ten hours playing. Running after balloons and balls, playing with small pieces of bread and «atacking» the broom are only a few of his favorite games. He is a non stopping cat...

Uma nova homepage/A new homepage

Voltámos a mudar um pouco a nossa homepage. O objectivo é mostrar aos visitantes que está perante um site actualizado e que não corre o risco de estar a ler notícias de há algumas semanas ou meses. Ao longo dos próximos tempos, vamos melhorar outras páginas. Afinal, a internet funciona dessa forma. Nada é estático, tudo se transforma.

Aproveitámos esse espaço novo, uma coluna à direita (só vísivel na abertura para quem tem monitores de resolução superior a 800x600) para colocar lá três novas fotos de Brynjolf. Mas servirá no futuro para comunicarmos as notícias mais importantes para quem não visita regularmente o nosso blog. Entretanto, pode já ver o nosso novo visual.

P.S. Estamos muito perto de reforçar o nosso gatil com uma gatinha. Podíamos até revelar já a sua identidade - com galeria de fotos e pedigree incluído - mas ainda não vai ser desta. Afinal, o que seria do mundo sem a curiosidade?

We've changed a little bit our homepage. Our goal is to show everyone who visit us that this is a updated site and there is no chance than our visitor is reading news with weeks or months old. In the future, we will improve other pages. Internet is like that. Nothing is forever, everything evolves.

In this new space (a new column at the right, only visible at first glance in screens with resolution above 800x600) to show three new photos of Brynjolf. But in the future we will communicate there the most umportant things to who does not visit often our blog. Meanwhile, you can already take a look at our new «face».

P.S. We are very close to reveal our cattery's new acquisition: a female. We could already reveal her identidy- with pedigree and photo gallery, but you have to wait a little while. What world would be without curiosity?

Uma estranha amizade/A strange friendship

São amigos. Brynjolf e Piglet (em homenagem à famosa personagem do Winnie, the Pooh) já criaram uma relação muito interessante. O nosso porquinho-da-índia tortie :-) já ultrapassou o susto inicial de ver um gatarrão aproximar-se da sua gaiola e já reage tranquilamente à sua presença. O Bryn também tratou depressa de derrubar fronteiras, pelo menos as sentimentais...

They are friends. Brynjolf and Piglet (the name of the famous character from Winnie, the Pooh) have already developed an interesting relationship. Our tortie guinea pig :-) had overcome the inicial fears of seing a big cat near by and reacts peacefully to his presence. And Bryn also broke all barriers between them. At least the sentimental ones...

Um Brynjolf inteligente/A smart Brynjolf

O nosso gato está a evoluir tão depressa que já começou a fazer puzzles com os nossos filhos. :-) Eles, por sua vez, não o largam. É mesmo o gato mais paciente do mundo.

P.S. Pedimos desculpa pela qualidade da imagem, mas às vezes um telemóvel é mais prático do que uma máquina fotográfica.

Our cat is developing so fast that he started already making puzzles with our kids. :-) They can get the hands off him. He is for sure the most pacient cat in the world.

P.S. We are sorry for the photo's quality, but sometimes a mobile phone is more useful than a camera.

Festas na barriga/Rubbing his stomach

O Brynjolf está cada vez mais adaptado à nova casa. Adora que lhe façam festas na barriga e nunca se farta de pedir atenção. Hoje, recebemos alguns cumprimentos especiais dos nossos amigos no estrangeiro pela chegada do Bryn, o que desde já agradecemos. Estamos muito contentes com a nossa decisão.

Brynjolf is adapting very fast to his new home. He loves to be rubbed in his stomach e never gets tired of getting atention. Today we received some special compliments from our friends abroad about Bryn's arrival. We thank you all. We are very glad about our decision.

Os nossos amigos da La Peyre (Espanha), Snow Cape (Inglaterra) e AndersAnn (Dinamarca/Alemanha) têm novas ninhadas, com especial destaque para a Anne (La Peyre) que não tem mãos a medir com três de uma só vez. Faça-lhes uma visita.

Our friends from La Peyre (Spain), Snowcape (England) e AndersAnn (Denmark/Germany) have new litters. Anne (La Peyre) is having fun and lots of work with three litters at the same time. Visit them.

O primeiro dia do resto das nossas vidas/The first day of the rest of our lives

Hoje, foi o primeiro dia de Brynjolf na sua nova casa. Fomos buscá-lo de manhã à Central Cats e, depois de uma fase de alguma timidez, começou a entrosar-se com os nossos filhos barulhentos e com o resto da família. Foi um dia bastante emotivo, cansativo e recheado de peripécias e por isso escrevemos a esta hora pouco aconselhável para quem amanhã tem o primeiro dia de trabalho da semana. O Bryn está bem e já demonstra o seu carinho por quem até há poucas horas eram perfeitos desconhecidos.

Today was the first day of Brynjolf's in his new home. We pick him in the morning in Central Cats and after a natural shy hours began to get along with our loud kids and with the rest of the family. It was a emotional, tiring day, fulfilled with a lot of stories to tell. That's why we are writing in our blog only so late in the night. And tomorrow is for many the first working day of the week... Bryn is Ok and already shows tenderness to whom was a perfect stranger just a few hours ago.
